Welcome to the business students association (BSA) announcement of the spring elections! The BSA is excited to allow its members to elect officers and choose representatives for campus-wide initiatives. This year’s election cycle includes several significant changes, including new voting methods and an online voting system. Voting will be open from March 12th to April 10th, and all eligible members are encouraged to participate. We thank our past presidents, interim presidents, and other committee members for their dedication and hard work during their office. We hope this year’s slate of officers will continue to uphold the association’s values and help students achieve their goals. Thank you for your time, and we look forward to seeing you in Vote!
The Business Students Association (BSA) has announced its Spring Elections for the upcoming semester. The elections will occur on March 12th during Orientation Week and last from 9 am to 12 pm in the Ballroom A of Union South. This year, two positions are up for election: President and VP of Student Organizations. The candidates for both positions are as follows:
Candidate Position Campaign Website Caroline York, President http://www.carolineyork.com/ Casey Bowers, VP Student Organizations https://sites.google.com/site/cbowers4bsa/.
Both candidates have very similar websites, the only difference being their campaign slogans. York seems to focus more on her experience within the BSA, while Bowers highlights his work with various student organizations on campus. Both candidates offer great opportunities for involvement and leadership within the organization, so it is hard to say who is a better candidate.
The Business Students Association (BSA) announces the Spring Elections for its executive board members, senators, and representatives. The deadline to apply is February 1st.
The BSA will elect four executive board members, two senators, and twelve representatives.
The executive board comprises the president, operations and finance, recruitment and retention vice president, secretary, student ambassadors, and membership coordinator. They oversee all aspects of the BSA organization, including planning events, lobbying the university for support, fundraising, and more.
The BSA Senate is made up of fifteen students who serve as an advisory body to the executive board on matters such as campus policy development and budgeting. Senators can propose legislation or amendments to BSA policies to improve club operations on campus.
Representatives are responsible for helping their constituents get involved with the club by attending events and representing them at clubs meetings. They also lobby the university for support during club funding negotiations.
The Business Students Association (BSA) is excited to announce the Spring Elections for the 2017-2018 academic year. Students interested in running for office must first become a member of the BSA. As a member, you will have access to resources and voting privileges.
To be a candidate, you must be a full-time student at UT Austin and have completed at least one semester of membership in the BSA. Candidates must also complete an application form and submit it to the BSA Elections Committee. The application can be found on the BSA website under “Forms & Documents.”
Candidates must declare their candidacy by emailing elections@utexas.edu no later than March 1st, 2018. After announcing your candidacy, you must organize an election campaign and schedule events with fellow candidates. After reviewing all declared candidates, the Elections Committee will create a ballot and send ballots to members no later than April 15th, 2018.
Thank you for considering running for office this coming Spring!
